This simple typographical mistake has led to the creation of its own profile (@gork), which appears to represent a less intelligent version of Grok and may or may not be managed by Elon Musk himself.
In a fun twist, Elon Musk has even updated his display name to “Gorklon Rust,” and X has integrated Gork as a new voice option within the voice settings of Grok.
According to insights shared by app researcher Radu Oncescu, Gork is described as a “lazy male voice,” showcasing a humorous take on how AI can embody different personalities.
This situation is undeniably amusing. A simple mistake in spelling has led to the emergence of a unique personality, where Gork adopts a more primitive, Neanderthal-like approach to handling inquiries.
This aligns closely with Elon Musk‘s distinctive sense of humor, which tends to lean towards the offbeat and unconventional. Interestingly, researchers have also found that X‘s Grok chatbot exhibits a peculiar behavior, as it has been shown to transform images of women into “less-clothed” versions, raising ethical concerns regarding the use of AI tools within the platform.
As highlighted by PC Mag:
“While the chatbot rejects requests for completely nude images, it does comply with requests to ‘remove her clothes’ by generating AI images of women in bikinis or lingerie. The responses from Grok are public and shown as replies to the original prompts.”
This behavior raises significant ethical questions surrounding the use of AI in social media, as it seems to operate in a gray area of legality and morality. Nonetheless, this approach aligns with Musk‘s broader philosophy of free speech on the platform, which often challenges conventional norms regarding content.
