On Wednesday, May 14, during a press conference hosted by Unite The People (UTP), the organization’s lead legal consultant, Walter Roberts, disclosed new allegations surrounding Tory Lanez’s case. A bodyguard named Bradley James, who reportedly drove Kelsey Harris, stepped forward with claims that he overheard Harris during private conversations admitting to being the shooter in the incident involving Megan. His testimony could potentially alter the trajectory of the case.
Since James is not bound by any non-disclosure or confidentiality agreements, he felt compelled to speak candidly with Unite The People. He expressed that he chose to come forward because he could not bear the thought of “a man sitting in prison for something he didn’t do.” Furthermore, Roberts revealed that James recalled Harris allegedly stating in a phone call that she possessed the firearm during the incident.
“She had the gun; she fired it [three times]. Mr. Peterson (also known as Tory Lanez), grabbed her arm and knocked it down, causing the gun to discharge two additional times,” James explained.
Walter Roberts of UTP emphasized that this new testimony aligns with the account provided by the only neutral witness, Sean Kelly, who testified during Lanez’s trial. Roberts reiterated Kelly’s statements, which indicated that he observed two women, specifically Megan and Kelsey, involved in a physical altercation before two men intervened. He recounted seeing one of the men grabbing one of the women’s arms while gunfire erupted from the passenger side of the vehicle, where Kelsey Harris was allegedly seated.
“This further underscores that Mr. Peterson did not shoot Ms. Megan Pete, did not fire at Ms. Pete, nor did he assault her. It’s just another discrepancy in a series of irregularities surrounding this case,” Roberts added.

After the attack, Sonstar stated that he had spoken with Tory, recounting his son’s words: “Dad, I thought it was my last.” He emphasized that Tory was unaware that his lungs had collapsed; he only realized he was struggling to breathe and could barely talk. Despite the severity of Tory’s injuries, Sonstar reassured everyone that “he is recovering remarkably.”
In the midst of the unfolding situation, Chris Brown also reacted subtly to the new allegations, posting a message on his Instagram Story on May 14 that simply stated, “FREE TORY!!!!!”
