X has unveiled an exciting initiative aimed at encouraging video creators to engage with the platform through its Video Kickstart program which offers financial rewards for users who consistently upload video content each month.
According to X: “The Video Kickstart Bonus is an invite-only pilot program that compensates creators for posting their own short-form, vertical videos on X. If you publish 15 qualifying videos on 15 different days during the program period, you will receive the bonus for that timeframe.”
To be eligible, each video must be filmed in vertical format and last no longer than three minutes. X clarified that videos should be original content. creators are permitted to share videos that have been previously posted on other platforms, provided they are their own creations.
X stated that selected creators will receive invitations to join the program and must enroll to qualify for bonus payments.
“The program operates in cycles of approximately one month,” X explained. “Each cycle includes an enrollment deadline and a final posting date, both of which can be found in your invitation and within Creator Studio.”
Furthermore, creators who participate in this program will be prioritized for inclusion in the Original Content Rewards Program, allowing them to earn a share of the advertising revenue generated from their posts.
X has been actively focusing on enhancing video content within the app to better align with user consumption habits and encourage longer engagement with the X feed.
In July, the platform initiated an updated livestream studio process and allocated $1 million in funding to support livestream creators in promoting this feature. In August, X introduced new video overlay tools, and last month, it launched an enhanced video composer, featuring a variety of upgraded creative options.
In 2023, X reported a significant increase in video consumption on the platform. The company has committed to enhancing its video presentation features to adapt to this growing trend.
X may be slightly behind in rolling out video posting features, but as user engagement with video content continues to rise, X is clearly aiming to capture a larger share of video contributions from its community.
