President Trump has not provided any updates on Mitch McConnell‘s health status, stating he is as uninformed as the public.
While on Air Force One heading to Joint Base Andrews, Trump was inquired about the health of the long-serving Kentucky senator. His response was notably brief.
“I have no idea. I have no idea how he’s doing,” Trump conveyed to the media.
This remark arises amidst ongoing concerns regarding McConnell’s health following a medical emergency that resulted in his hospitalization last month.
As reported by TMZ, McConnell has been in the hospital since June 14, with 911 audio indicating first responders were dispatched after he was found unconscious. His team informed TMZ last week that the senator is improving, although speculation about his health persists.
Recently, McConnell’s daughter, Porter, deactivated her X account without providing a reason, which has sparked further online discussion. Conservative commentator Scott Jennings claimed he had recently spoken with McConnell and assured the public that the senator is doing well.
Meanwhile, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene reignited controversy by criticizing McConnell’s wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.
Reports indicate that Lisa Rinna and Meghan McCain have publicly expressed their concerns as discussions about the senator’s health continue to capture media attention.
Trump’s remarks are unlikely to quell the ongoing speculation, underscoring that even the president lacks insight into McConnell’s current health status.
