Meghan Markle‘s confidante has opened up about her emotional state following the alarming allegations of child pornography against her father, Thomas Markle Sr.. The friend stated that Meghan feels a “genuine sense of relief” knowing that an investigation is underway.
A close friend of the Duchess, who reportedly received Meghan’s permission to discuss this sensitive issue, shared with The Sun: “As a mother of young children, she is profoundly affected by these events. Most importantly, her thoughts are with the potential victims. The safety and well-being of those children must take precedence.”
The friend elaborated: “After years of grappling with deeply concerning issues, Meghan feels a significant relief that these allegations are finally receiving the scrutiny they deserve.”
They continued, stating, “She has been following legal advice regarding what she can publicly disclose and has faced the challenge of remaining silent, trusting that the relevant authorities will act appropriately.”
As we previously reported, Meghan expressed that she was “deeply distressed” by the serious allegations directed at her father. She also mentioned receiving a report with similar accusations in a letter dated 2018.
Meghan stated: “The letter contained disturbing allegations against my father, and I was assured that these matters were under investigation.”
The allegations brought forth by Thomas Markle Jr. to officials in the Philippines have prompted an investigation into Thomas Sr., leading to a rift within the Markle family.
While Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle asserts that Thomas Jr. fabricated these claims, he insists he was obligated to report discovering what he described as “hundreds, if not thousands” of child porn images at their father’s residence to the authorities.
Thomas Sr. has firmly denied all the accusations against him.
