A devastating mass shooting unfolded in Georgia on Sunday, resulting in two fatalities and injuring 35 others. Law enforcement authorities have initiated a manhunt for the perpetrator or perpetrators involved in this tragic incident.
The violent episode erupted during a lively block party in the early hours of Sunday morning in Vienna, GA, as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in an official press release.
According to GBI officials, deputies from the Dooly County Sheriff’s Office were on patrol in the vicinity when gunfire erupted. They quickly responded to the scene, discovering the aftermath of the horrific shooting.
Authorities identified two young men, Ja’Quavion Aderious Jackson, aged 21, and Macaleb Malik Jackson, aged 23, who were tragically found dead at the scene with gunshot wounds. It remains unclear if the two were related.
Law enforcement reported that 35 additional individuals suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their medical conditions vary, with some in stable condition while others are critically injured.
GBI officials have not yet disclosed a motive for the shooting, nor have they confirmed the number of shooters involved. The investigation continues to uncover the details surrounding this tragic event.
