Spencer Pratt’s Emotional Plea for Support After Losing Home: “I’m Just Trying to Provide for My Family”
Spencer Pratt has resorted to bold self-promotion in a desperate effort to generate income following the devastating loss of his home due to the Palisades Fire. Alongside his wife, Heidi Montag, who has seen her music surge in popularity, Pratt has also taken the time to stand up for fellow celebrity Mandy Moore, who has faced criticism amid her own struggles during this crisis.
Mandy Moore made a heartfelt appeal for assistance on behalf of her in-laws, who lost their home in the fires. Their devastating circumstances reflect the widespread destruction that has impacted numerous families and neighborhoods across the region.
The talented actress and her family—including her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith from the band Dawes, and their three children—were directly affected by the Eaton Fire in Altadena. This catastrophic event rendered their home “not livable,” alongside damaging both her garage and Goldsmith’s music studio, highlighting the widespread impact of these wildfires.

Spencer Pratt Stands Up for Mandy Moore Amid Criticism
On Thursday, musician Matthew Koma, who is also the husband of Hilary Duff, initiated a GoFundMe campaign for Goldsmith’s brother, Griffin, and his wife, Kit, who are expecting their first child in just a few weeks. This act of kindness reflects the supportive nature of their community during these trying times.
Moore promptly shared the fundraiser on her own Instagram account, which unfortunately triggered a significant backlash from her followers. Meanwhile, Pratt faced his own share of criticism for how he has leveraged his platform since the loss of his home, prompting a wave of responses from fans and critics alike.

He began his TikTok message by expressing gratitude toward the actress, recalling how she once helped him book a hotel for his first trip to New York City several years ago.
In response to the online criticism, he added, “If I see another TikTok about Mandy Moore and GoFundMes, I’m going to start coming after you guys. You want beef with your worst nightmare, which is me right now? You post about Mandy Moore, and I’ll ride for Mandy Moore.”
Moore also took a stand against the wave of negativity directed at her after sharing Koma’s GoFundMe, telling her critics in a follow-up post to “Kindly F OFF,” showcasing her determination to stand by her loved ones despite the backlash.

Moore elaborated further, stating, “People questioning whether we’re helping our family or assuming some arbitrary amount of money that Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic. Of course, we are helping.”
“Our friend Matt started this GoFundMe, and I’m sharing it because people have asked how they can help. We just lost most of our life in a fire too,” she added. “Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”
In light of the negativity, she has since disabled comments on the post to avoid further conflict.
The GoFundMe campaign has successfully reached its goal, while Moore has also begun promoting fundraisers for other families who lost their homes in the fire on her Instagram Story, demonstrating her commitment to community support.

Heidi Montag Soars to Number One After Heartfelt Plea for Help
In the midst of the backlash that Pratt has faced, he stirred the pot on Friday with a TikTok video where he explicitly asked his followers to watch a previously shared video on his account, noting that doing so could trigger a payout for him if enough people engaged with it. This highlights the intersection of social media and personal crises.
“I’ll stand to earn up to $1,100 from TikTok if it’s one of the top 10 most liked TikToks with that song, so more likely around $200, but it could go as high as $1,100,” he stated in the video, as noted by Us Weekly, illustrating the financial motivations behind his social media activity.
“So, if you’re bored, please go like that last video,” he said about the clip featuring Aly & AJ’s “What It Feels Like.” He further mentioned that since the duo wears the Pratt Daddy Crystals featured in it, “it’s kind of an authentic promo,” adding humorously, “I also want to get that $1,000.”
In another video, he urged his followers to stream Heidi Montag’s 15-year-old debut album Superficial, a request that seemingly yielded better results than he anticipated, showcasing the couple’s reliance on their past success during tough times.

Montag herself expressed astonishment at the overwhelming response from fans, as they quickly propelled her album to number one on the iTunes charts on Saturday evening, followed by the song “Superficial” also reaching the top position, a testament to the power of community support.
As the album ascended the charts, Pratt expressed his gratitude to their supporters on his Instagram account, referring to it as “perhaps the best thing I could have ever dreamed about… aside from still having my home and all of my possessions.”
“But don’t worry, we’re on our way to being rich and famous, and I won’t forget about you once I’m rich and famous,” he jokingly added. “I’ll be the most grateful rich celebrity you have ever supported in your lives. Love you all, thank you so much.”

While some fans have shown their support for the couple, Pratt took to social media once again to address the trolls who were less than supportive. He defended his actions, even sharing a purported comment from his Instagram that read, “Of course Spencer’s gonna milk his burned down house for every dollar it’s worth.”
“Duh. Duh. That’s right. Let me figure out every dollar I can get,” Pratt stated in his follow-up TikTok. “Of course I’m trying to get money to provide for my life with my family because our home and all of our possessions burned down.”
“And if I can do it on social media, which has been my primary source of income for years, showcasing our journey of losing our home and all of our possessions, don’t you think I’m going to keep milking it for every dollar?” he asked, further emphasizing his commitment to providing for his family.
