The cheaper M4 MacBook Air is still the top choice for most people, but the M5 delivers a brighter mini-LED display with a better 120Hz refresh rate, improved sound, and a better mix of ports that include an HDMI port and an SDXC card slot. If you have the budget, the upgrade is very much worth it.
