Physical Altercation Ignited by Insulting Remarks Directed at DDG
On Saturday, May 31, an unexpected confrontation erupted involving DDG’s brother DuB and several members of his entourage at the DreamCon convention held in Houston. This incident was triggered when a man approached DDG and his group, repeatedly labeling the rapper as “Doo Doo Garbage,” a derogatory term popularized by YouTuber Solluminati during a previous online feud with DDG.
The situation escalated in front of numerous attendees who were live-streaming the event, including DDG himself. Viral video footage circulating across social media platforms showcases DuB confronting the man regarding his disrespectful comments directed at his brother, which quickly led to punches being exchanged.
On Sunday, the man involved in the altercation took to social media platforms to share his perspective on the incident. He claims he was assaulted and is now considering taking legal action against DDG and/or DuB. Additionally, he stated that the altercation resulted in a broken chain, missing glasses, and ultimately led to his ban from DreamCon.
Public Reactions Flood Social Media Platforms
The news surrounding the incident rapidly spread across the internet, igniting a flurry of comments on The Shade Room as users expressed their opinions on the unfolding drama. Some users accused the man of seeking a financial payout after instigating a reaction, while others contended that DDG’s crew had overreacted to the provocation.
Instagram user @liinatural commented, “Don’t play the victim when you instigated the entire situation. You wanted to be heard and seen, and that’s exactly what you got! It’s unfortunate that Dub fell for the trap, but sometimes people cross the line and then attempt to run and tell for a check because the other person is established!”
Another Instagram user, @whoisclayjames, expressed support for DuB, writing, “His brother did what was necessary in that moment.”
Instagram user @crystal.cave added, “The moral of the story is that you tried to provoke him and ended up getting beaten up. Anyone need anything from the store?”
Instagram user @jasi.walkerr remarked, “Keep in mind, DDG didn’t even touch this man. It was his brother 😂 is he that slow?”
Another user, @diki_xoxo, pointed out, “‘Doo Doo Garbage’—y’all are acting like this man said something about his child. Words shouldn’t provoke such a reaction, especially when you have so much to lose 🤷🏽♀️.”
Instagram user @raydaniels commented, “This is the new reality. Someone provokes you, gets beaten up, and then they claim you attacked them. Now he’s likely to file a lawsuit.”
User @therealtacara stated, “This was his intention, and they fell right into his trap.”
Another commenter, @keyishareneee, wrote, “You instigated the situation and now want to play the victim. Bye, boy 😂.”
While Instagram user @thedonnaaffect emphasized, “Regardless of the circumstances, they were in the wrong. As a celebrity or recognized influencer, you will inevitably face hate; it comes with the territory. People need to learn to manage their emotions better…”
DDG Responds on Twitter Following the Confrontation
In the aftermath of the incident, the term “Doo Doo Garbage” began trending on X, and DDG decided to voice his thoughts publicly.
Shortly after the video of the altercation began circulating widely, DDG posted a series of emojis that humorously echoed the insult: “💩💩🗑️”.
In response to a fan’s tweet that read, “Calling DDG doo doo garbage is so simple yet hilarious every time,” DDG fired back with: “Last n that said that lost some Mario coins,” making a direct reference to the DreamCon incident.
