LeBron James’ Business Partner Faces Child Support Dispute

Maverick Carter, a close friend and business partner of LeBron James, is currently embroiled in a contentious legal battle with his former partner, Crystal Streets, regarding child support payments … according to reports from TMZ.

In legal documents, Maverick has requested the court to lower the current monthly child support payment of $25,000 he provides to Crystal for their 18-year-old daughter. He argues that he covers the full expenses of her attendance at a full-time boarding school.

Maverick, who is represented by renowned divorce attorney Laura Wasser, contends that Crystal spends minimal “meaningful” time with their daughter due to her residing at the boarding school.

He is seeking to eliminate the monthly child support obligation entirely, asserting that he is committed to covering all of his daughter’s needs directly.

Maverick also highlighted that their daughter turned 18 in July, suggesting that the court no longer retains authority over her custody at this stage.

In reaction to Maverick’s claims, Crystal argues that he possesses a wealth exceeding $100 million and should continue to provide support until their daughter completes her education. She is even pursuing an increase in the monthly support to $35,000, stating they had previously agreed to this amount in 2024, but it was never formalized due to the California wildfires.

She also refuted Maverick’s assertion that she neglects her parental responsibilities, emphasizing that she provides emotional support, coordinates travel arrangements, and meets her daughter’s needs while she is at boarding school.

Included in the court documents are alleged emails. One dated December 28, 2025, reveals Maverick expressing, “Dealing with you is the only thing bad about my life, and I’ll be so happy when it’s over.”
