Investigators report that 17-year-old Landen Austin Moore now faces a murder charge for allegedly drowning 13-year-old Daryl Martinez Lowry. Authorities claim Moore and another unidentified teenager held Lowry underwater until he perished.

Investigators Uncover Details of the Alleged Drowning Incident Involving 13-Year-Old
According to Fox News, Daryl Martinez Lowry recently relocated to the residence of McCormick County Council Chairman Bernie Hamby while awaiting a new foster placement. At that time, Landen Austin Moore and another teen were already living in the home. Authorities state that an altercation occurred between Moore, the unidentified teen, and Lowry at a boat dock in Modoc, South Carolina, during the early hours of July 20. Reports indicate that the teens assaulted Lowry with a knife before allegedly submerging his head underwater until he died. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division confirmed that officers discovered Daryl’s body at Clark Hill Lake on July 20. Subsequently, Moore and the unidentified teen were arrested in connection with Lowry’s death.
What Are the Legal Consequences for Landen Austin Moore?
Landen Austin Moore was charged with murder and placed in the custody of the McCormick County Sheriff’s Office. The other teen involved was transferred to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice; however, authorities have not disclosed any charges against him. Currently, it remains unknown whether Landen has entered a plea or secured legal representation.
