Jon Stewart tore into a lot of people today throughout his The Everyday Show monologue on Monday: Trump for his most recent lies, Biden for his reaction to the Trump verdict, and each Republicans and Democrats alike. But the group that may possibly have received his greatest lambasting was the media.
“The difficulty is that most of the time in this nation, our leaders are not in court. They are right here, on Television, exactly where the news media has decided there is genuinely no such factor as reality,” Stewart explains.
“What the courts do genuinely effectively is appear backwards and reconstruct the realities of what occurred. The news media could do the very same, but what they do as an alternative is appear forward and wildly speculate on the future.”
Stewart argues that this sort of speculation is pointless mainly because no one knows what the future holds.
“Ask this particular person what it was about the 2020 election that they identified objectionable and then litigate the realities of their objections to them, in front of them, so when they say to you, ‘I in no way mentioned lock her up,’ you can say ‘I object!'” he says. “F***ing do that!”
