Following experimenting with Notes on Reels and Posts more than the previous couple of months, Instagram has now launched a reside test of expanded Notes alternatives with chosen customers.
As you can see in this notification, posted by Justin Jarvis (and shared by Matt Navarra), some customers are now becoming informed that they can add Notes to feed posts and Reels, offering a lot more approaches to use its conversation starter prompts to produce engagement.
Notes, which Instagram initially launched December 2022, give a uncomplicated way to leave an engagement trigger for other customers in the app, and have established especially well-known with younger customers.
Which is a demographic that IG truly desires to hold onto, amid the rise of TikTok, which is why it is now seeking to add Notes to each element of the app, in order to double down on that initial good results.
Certainly, following initial adding Notes to user inboxes, Instagram has now also experimented with Notes on profiles, along with is aforementioned tests of Notes on Reels and feed posts, which are now having a larger push.
So, will they perform? Will customers care?
Nicely, once again, primarily based on the good results of Notes with younger audiences (teen customers about 10x a lot more probably to develop a Note in the app versus everyone else), it stands to purpose that they could nicely perform in other contexts as nicely, although customers that do not like them and are not interested can just ignore them and move on, without having ever paying the function considerably thoughts.
As such, it is a relatively protected experiment for IG, with minimal disruption. And if Notes on feed posts and Reels catch on, that could be a different win for the app.
We’ve asked Instagram for a lot more data on the new test and will update this post if/when we hear back.
