What new features are being introduced for Xbox achievements? Microsoft is testing features that allow users to hide games from their achievement lists. This update is part of the Xbox Insiders program, which offers early access to new features for a select group of users.
As of April 2026, select Xbox Insiders will be able to hide games, whether completed or not, from their achievement list. Hidden games will still contribute to the user’s Gamerscore, enhancing the ability to curate public profiles.

How will achievements be visually updated? Microsoft is also experimenting with redesigned achievement notifications. These changes include new animations that align with the custom colors chosen by users for their Xbox interface.
Additionally, games where Insiders have achieved 100 percent completion will be highlighted in their lists. Insiders will also have the option to filter their lists to view only fully completed games, streamlining their achievement tracking.
| Feature | Before Update | After Update |
|---|---|---|
| Hide Games | No | Yes |
| Custom Notifications | Standard | Custom Colors |
| Highlight Completed Games | No | Yes |
Why are these changes significant? The ability to hide games has been described as “one of the most requested features” by Xbox Insiders. This aligns with the March update that allowed users to exclude games from the Xbox’s Quick Resume feature, another long-requested enhancement.
These updates reflect a broader commitment by Microsoft to enhance the Xbox experience, especially under the leadership of new Gaming CEO Asha Sharma. While these changes may not solely stem from her direction, they certainly contribute to improving user satisfaction and engagement.
| Feature | Request Frequency | Implementation Date |
|---|---|---|
| Hide Games | High | April 2026 |
| Exclude from Quick Resume | High | March 2026 |
