The grandmother who allegedly brandished a firearm at a suspected shoplifter outside a Ross store has been identified by the police, but her situation may not be resolved, according to reports from TMZ.
A Public Information Officer from the Tucson Police Department informed TMZ that officers have reached out to the armed bystander featured in the viral footage. The outcome of a possible aggravated assault investigation depends on locating the alleged shoplifter.

The police revealed that the incident on August 1 started with a report of shoplifting around 10 AM. Officers arrived at the scene, gathered witness statements, and examined security footage, but the suspect had already fled the area.
The situation escalated rapidly online when footage showed the man exiting the Ross store with multiple suitcases, backpacks, and purses while the store’s alarm sounded loudly.
An elderly woman then followed him into the parking lot and allegedly pointed a handgun at him, transforming the alleged shoplifting incident into a much more serious potential assault case.
The situation has become increasingly complex. According to the Tucson Police Department, they have documented the possibility of aggravated assault. they currently lack a victim for this potential charge since the suspected shoplifter has not yet been identified or located.
