X is strategically enhancing the accessibility of its innovative Grok chatbot by forming a partnership with the popular messaging application Telegram for a groundbreaking integration.
Now, users who subscribe to both Telegram Premium and X Premium will have the opportunity to interact with xAI’s Grok AI chatbot directly within their Telegram streams. This new feature offers an additional channel for users to receive insights and answers from Elon Musk’s distinctive “non-woke” AI chatbot, enhancing the user experience significantly.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by X Corp, which is making substantial investments in the development of AI technologies.
In December of the previous year, xAI disclosed that it had successfully secured an additional $6 billion in Series C funding, bringing its total valuation to an impressive billion. This influx of capital has allowed Elon’s AI venture to rapidly scale its operations, particularly with the establishment of the massive “Colossus” AI data center located in Memphis, which now hosts approximately 200,000 Nvidia H100 units.
This substantial investment positions the project into competition with other notable AI initiatives regarding computational capacity. Furthermore, X has introduced a variety of methods for all users within the X platform to interact with its AI chatbot, enhancing overall engagement and functionality.
What’s particularly exciting is that users can now leverage this AI technology beyond the X platform, allowing for greater flexibility and accessibility.
Forming a partnership with the Russian-founded Telegram is a notable decision, especially as Telegram has gained traction among right-wing commentators after being marginalized by mainstream social media platforms.
This collaboration appears to resonate well with the core user demographic of X, and it will be intriguing to observe how Grok operates within a different application environment.
However, this partnership might not alleviate the ongoing concerns regarding the perceived alignment of Trump and Musk with Russian interests and the broader agenda of the Russian government.
It’s important to note that while Telegram originated in Russia, it is now based in Dubai, with its founders having left Russia several years ago to ensure the platform’s independence.
Given the overlapping audience between the two platforms, this partnership could serve as an effective strategy to engage a broader user base with X’s AI tools, as the company aims to transition Grok into a profitable asset for the platform.
While it remains uncertain how much traction Grok is gaining within the user community—since X has not disclosed extensive usage statistics—it appears that users are increasingly utilizing Grok to pose questions within their post streams, suggesting a growing familiarity and reliance on the chatbot.
