What Did Gervonta Davis Say to Papoose?
Gervonta Davis posted another jab at Papoose in an Instagram Story that has since been deleted. Davis tagged the rapper and appeared to suggest he would knock him out. Davis wrote, “@papoose I would put you to sleep..now try what you did with old body with me..I bet they picking you up! Corny no lol.” At the time of the report, Papoose had not responded to that latest jab, though he had posted about Davis in earlier Instagram Stories.
What Started the Gervonta Davis and Papoose Dispute?
The online dispute followed Gervonta Davis’s criticism of Claressa Shields’ outfit at a listening event in Atlanta. On Monday, Nov. 2, Shields hosted the event to preview songs from her debut album, What Did You Expect. Davis commented on footage from the event, bringing attention to the outfit rather than the music.
Claressa Shields wore a one-piece jumpsuit with a lace-up detail along the back. After seeing footage from the event, Gervonta Davis posted that she looked “a hot a** mess.”
How Did Papoose Respond to Gervonta Davis?
Papoose responded in an Instagram Story and referenced Davis’s March 2025 fight with Lamont Roach Jr. Pap wrote, “Roach was getting off on that n***a @gervontaa That n***a said he had grease in his eye. The girl who did his hair said she ain’t use none,” referring to Davis’s explanation for taking a knee during the fight.
In the ninth round, Davis took a knee, and the fight ended in a majority draw, marking his first non-win. Davis later said hair grease had dripped into his eyes and caused them to burn. His hairdresser appeared to dispute that explanation in a statement of her own.
Papoose’s Instagram Stories also included allegations relating to past domestic violence claims involving Davis and women. The posts contained personal insults and accusations; those statements are attributed here to Papoose.
“You too tall to be making threats bozo. Now, try that shit you did to your girlfriend on me. Woman beating a** n***a. Pap continued, “I think dancing like a woman every chance you get is corny. But who’s judging? @gervontaa”
