The year 2026 wouldn’t feel complete without showcasing innovative gaming handheld concepts. Acer has stepped up at IFA, unveiling its Project DualPlay Mini, a unique device that seamlessly transitions from a handheld console to a compact laptop.
This concept, under the Predator brand, aims to provide an effortless shift between gaming and productivity tasks without needing separate devices. According to Acer’s press release, it promises to combine the best elements of both PC and handheld console gaming. In handheld mode, it features a standard controller setup, while a backlit keyboard and mouse option are tailored for intense first-person shooters and strategic gameplay.

The DualPlay Mini can also function as a conventional laptop, making it suitable for work-related tasks. Acer indicates that users can connect it to an external monitor for enhanced productivity. It incorporates a dual-fan cooling system similar to that of the Predator Atlas 8. Notably, the back panel features “Acer 50 since 1976,” celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary.
While Acer has not disclosed detailed specifications, including the device’s weight, this lack of information is not surprising since the DualPlay Mini is still a conceptual device and may never reach the market. Nevertheless, the innovative “flip-and-swivel design” is visually appealing and offers a glimpse into the future of gaming technology.
