Family Member Labels Sarah Grace Patrick as a “Monster” After Disturbing Footage of Her Eulogy
The 17-year-old from Georgia, Sarah Grace Patrick, who is currently facing charges for the alleged murders of her mother and stepfather, delivered a heart-wrenching eulogy at their funeral just five months prior to her decision to turn herself in for these horrific crimes.
In a widely circulated video, Sarah Grace Patrick, charged with homicide in connection with the February 2025 shootings of her mother, Kristin Brock, age 41, and stepfather, James Brock, age 45, delivered a deeply emotional speech during their funeral. In retrospect, her words are chilling and raise numerous questions about her true feelings.

“Hello everyone, my name is Sarah, and I am the daughter of Kristin Brock and the stepdaughter of James Brock,” Patrick began her eulogy, visibly struggling to keep her composure.
Wearing a light blue dress, the teenager continued, “I just wanted to express my goodbyes to my mother and James, as we never had the opportunity to do so.”
“I was so accustomed to having both of you around that I never once considered what my life would be like without you,” Patrick cried. “Now, I realize how much I truly needed you both and the void you’ve left is unimaginable.”
She proceeded to address her stepfather directly during the speech.
“James, I want to thank you for all the invaluable life lessons you imparted to me and for being the greatest bonus dad anyone could ask for,” Patrick expressed. “Your heart is finally at peace in heaven, and you both are free from pain now. Although this thought brings me comfort, I can’t help but feel that your struggle was not meant to end this way.”
Addressing her mother, Patrick stated, “None of the challenges we faced define the kind of person or mother you were. You were a beautiful, kind-hearted soul filled with gratitude, and so incredibly strong.”
The teenager recited a letter that her mother allegedly wrote to her stepfather, claiming it brought her “peace” and “closure” amidst the turmoil.
“I want to remember them for who they were and not for the tragic events that took them away from us. I want to cherish the time we had together instead of being sad about the time that we lost,” she continued.
“I may always be her sunshine, but she will always be my guiding star from above,” Patrick added about her mother. “And I know that at nighttime, I can look up at the sky and see Mama and Jamie, and they’ll save me a spot in heaven just like they saved one for you. I’m so sorry…”
“Although there’s nothing we can do to bring them back, we still have the power to choose how we treat those around us today,” she concluded her emotional eulogy by thanking her friends and family for their support in helping her navigate through her “worst nightmare.”
According to the video, she ended her speech with a heartfelt, “I’m so sorry,” before stepping down from the podium.

The disturbing footage was reportedly recorded by a guest at the funeral and later saved by James’ niece, Krysten Dowda, who posted the video on her Facebook page and shared her thoughts with the Daily Mail. According to The Sun, the funeral took place at Catalyst Church in Carrollton, Georgia.
Alongside the video, Dowda criticized Patrick in her Facebook post, branding her a “monster.”
“After the funeral, upon realizing someone had recorded this moment, I immediately saved it because I knew that one day everyone would need to see this for what it truly was,” she stated.
“The feeling of being at a funeral to say goodbye to someone you loved, while realizing you are witnessing the person who murdered them standing in front of everyone and pretending to cry about them—it’s surreal. Does anyone else see this person performing a crying voice without shedding a single tear?” she continued.
“THIS is what a monster looks like,” she emphasized. “Monsters can take the form of sweet-looking girls in dresses too. Fortunately in this case, the monster will trade her dress for a jumpsuit and handcuffs.”
During an interview with the Daily Mail, Dowda asserted that Patrick “pretended to cry at the funeral.”
“The main question is… how do you not hear several gunshots inside a small house?” she posed, raising further suspicions.
A spokesperson for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Ashley Hulsey, referenced Patrick’s eulogy in a discussion with NewsNation shortly after the teenager’s arrest this week, expressing skepticism about her apparent emotions.
“I can’t confirm if she had real tears. I wasn’t present to witness it firsthand,” Hulsey noted. “However, it did seem peculiar. It felt more like a rehearsed speech, and at the end, she said, ‘I’m sorry.’”
“Was that, ‘I’m sorry because I may have done this,’ or is it, ‘I’m sorry because I was upset during this eulogy?’” she added. “We may never know the answer to that, but it certainly stood out to me at that moment.”

Background on the Shootings and Patrick’s Arrest
Kristin Brock and James Brock were tragically discovered shot to death in their home back in February. Following a detailed and prolonged investigation, five months later, law enforcement contacted Patrick while she was staying with her biological father, informing her that they had obtained a warrant for her arrest. Subsequently, she voluntarily turned herself in on a Tuesday.
Currently, Patrick is being charged as an adult, facing two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the deaths of her mother and stepfather.
The investigation was initiated on February 20, when the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a teenager reporting that her mother and stepfather had been shot inside the family residence, according to WSB’s coverage at that time.
One particularly heartbreaking detail is that Patrick’s younger sister, who was only five years old at the time of the murders, was the first to discover the bodies. It was determined that this young girl was present in the home during the shooting but remained unaware of the events that transpired.
“The youngest daughter found them and then informed Sarah, who made the 911 call,” Hulsey explained at a press conference on Tuesday.

“From the very moment the 911 call was received, a relentless investigation commenced,” she added, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
Patrick was with her biological father when authorities informed them that the investigation was focusing on the teenager, according to reports from Law & Crime. It was her father who assisted her in turning herself in that Tuesday morning.
“We are confident that she is responsible for their murders,” Hulsey stated during a press conference later that afternoon. “She turned herself in because we informed her that we had warrants for her arrest.”
At the same time, Hulsey mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and they are not ruling out the possibility of additional arrests, as it remains unclear whether the alleged suspect acted alone in the crime.
“Our team has sifted through mountains of physical and digital evidence and collaborated with the FBI and GBI crime lab,” she noted, mentioning that Patrick’s tearful speech at her mother’s funeral is a moment investigators suspect might have been an attempt to cover her tracks.
The couple is survived by their seven children, who formed a blended family at the time of their tragic deaths.
If found guilty, Patrick could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Patrick Maintains Her Innocence, According to Her Grandfather
Patrick’s grandfather, Dennis Nolan, spoke with NewsNation’s Banfield on Thursday night, sharing insights from his discussions with both Patrick and investigators concerning the case post-arrest.
“It’s difficult to make any judgments at this point. They need to release the evidence, and I am unclear about what evidence they possess,” Nolan stated when asked if he believes she is innocent. “From what I understand, most of it is circumstantial. And, you know, she’s my granddaughter, I have to stand by her. She swears her innocence.”
Nolan mentioned that he spoke with Patrick following her arrest, indicating that the teenager called him feeling “very upset.”
“She has always viewed me more as a father figure. She was pleading for my assistance. I explained to her that there was nothing I could do at this moment,” Nolan recounted. “She was just begging, ‘Please, help me. Help me get out of this situation.’ I advised her to comply with their instructions and cooperate, and we would do everything we could.”

When asked if he has been in contact with investigators on the case, he revealed that he had spoken to them at length, while noting, “they do not release any information.”
“If they had something concrete, they could have arrested her much sooner. I just can’t picture her being capable of this. She’s always been such a sweet young girl. What can I say? I just can’t imagine her committing such a horrific act, especially against her mother. They had a very close relationship, and everything seemed fine at that time.”
He later acknowledged that mother-daughter relationships “always have their disagreements,” but insisted there was “nothing serious” between the two. He also hinted at Brock’s “troubled past,” suggesting that he was involved in a “motorcycle gang” and questioned whether the murders were related to “James’ past catching up with him.”
He asserted that investigators informed him, “she’s the only one who could have done it”—and when he inquired about the evidence they had, they responded, “Well, I can’t tell you that, but I would just say that she’s the only one who could have done it.”
Meanwhile, Hulsey informed Banfield that the teenager’s online activity has piqued their interest. “When you choose to share your life online, it becomes fair game,” she said, indicating that further arrests could be possible.

Patrick’s Online Presence and Digital Activity
Following the tragic deaths of her mother and father, Patrick remained active on TikTok up until just days before her arrest. Law enforcement confirmed that the now-deleted TikTok account @sgrace04282 belonged to the teenager.
In the months between the shootings and her arrest, Patrick appeared to discuss their deaths frequently on social media. In one post dated May 17, according to Law & Crime, she ended with the phrase “Should probably delete later,” while questioning how someone could shoot her parents through text overlays.
The TikTok featured a collage of photos including both the Brocks and her younger sister, according to Law & Crime. In a text overlay, Patrick allegedly wrote, “If you asked me about my mom and stepdad, I would say I miss them incredibly.”
“I feel so homesick and I miss them so much I can’t bear the thought of never seeing them again; this is worse than anything I could imagine,” the message continued. “I’m trapped in a horror movie that never ends.”
“And on top of everything, I still have no answers. I’m so confused about how someone could have done this and even more confused about why. Why them? Why this? Just why? How could they?” She captioned this post, “Please send prayers for healing,” as reported by Atlanta NBC affiliate WXIA.
The first post mourning the losses appeared on March 1, just weeks after the Brocks were shot and killed. Over a video of the couple before their deaths, the then-16-year-old Patrick reportedly wrote, “They don’t know it yet, but a year from now, my 5-year-old sister and I will discover them wrongfully shot dead in our home and won’t get to see me graduate high school, walk down the aisle, or even say goodbye.”
There were reportedly numerous videos shared during the five-month gap between the Brocks’ deaths and Patrick’s arrest, including many in which Patrick was seen sobbing and lamenting the absence of her loved ones in her life.
