Meta is now enabling creators to explore new experimental video editing tools through the beta tab in its Edits app. The latest updates feature enhancements such as speed ramping, color correction adjustments, and improved project management capabilities.
According to a press release obtained by SMT, Meta described how users can access the beta tab, which was introduced in June.
Meta clarified: “The Beta tab is a specific section in Edits where upcoming features can be tested early. These features are disabled by default; creators have the option to enable them, experiment, and provide feedback by shaking their phone. This collaborative approach allows us to develop Edits in partnership with creators, empowering them to shape the app to meet their needs.”

The newly introduced beta tab features on iOS include speed curves, which will allow for precise and dynamic speed ramping along customizable curves, according to Meta.
This feature has been among the most requested additions for video editing, particularly by creators focusing on short-form content.
In addition, Meta is experimenting with a one-tap color correction feature that will automatically enhance exposure, contrast, and tone in video productions.
The company is also trialing folder functionalities on both iOS and Android, offering creators an organized way to manage multiple projects by categorizing them into different sections within the app.
Users can enter Organize mode with a long press and easily drag-and-drop their drafts into folders, transforming Edits into a personalized creative workspace,” Meta stated.
Finally, Meta is introducing adjustable layers for Android users, enabling creators to maintain consistency in presentation across their projects.
Previously, adjustable layers editing tools were made available to iOS users in November.
The beta tab allows creators to experiment with all these features in testing mode, providing insights into what’s on the horizon.
Moreover, this beta functionality enables Meta to collect valuable feedback from users as it strives to enhance and refine the Edits experience.
