After the crucial and monetary success of Dune: Half Two, director Denis Villeneuve can do no matter he desires. What the followers need is Dune Messiah, a 3rd a part of his Dune saga. However Villeneuve has made it clear he wants a break from sand for some time. It’s coarse, will get in every single place, and so forth. So, what’s subsequent?
Sadly, we don’t know but. However, we could now know what he’ll do after Dune Messiah. Deadline experiences that Legendary Leisure has simply optioned a brand new ebook known as Nuclear Conflict: A State of affairs for Villeneuve as a challenge for him to probably sort out after he completes the third Dune movie. Which, we think about, can be after no matter is subsequent.
Written by Annie Jacobsen, Nuclear Conflict is a non-fiction ebook comprised of interviews with navy and civilian specialists making an attempt to color an image of what an precise nuclear battle, and its fallout, would seem like. Villeneuve and Legendary see it as “a chilling cautionary story about the place the world is perhaps headed in an age of political volatility at a time when too many international locations have nuclear capabilities.” Mainly, a fictionalized model of the non-fiction ebook.
That this got here collectively after a movie concerning the creation of that bomb, Oppenheimer, gained Greatest Image, is nearly definitely not a coincidence both. You possibly can’t purchase that stage of recognition and familiarity when growing a challenge and so the time appears proper to point out audiences the pretend fallout of that true story.
However, once more, that is all simply hypothesis with many extra variables in between. We nonetheless don’t know what Villeneuve is directing subsequent. We nonetheless don’t know (for certain) if Dune Messiah is going on. We don’t know when which is going on. And so, who is aware of what the world, or Villeneuve’s workload, will seem like at the moment. Both manner, Nuclear Conflict as a challenge sounds each attention-grabbing and terrifying.
