This statement may initially seem baffling until you verify the timeline and realize that Daredevil first graced our screens on Netflix in April 2015. The passage of time can often be perplexing, a puzzle that is better examined through the lens of other Marvel heroes. Meanwhile, the dedicated cast and crew of Daredevil are eagerly preparing to dive back into the gritty, street-level action that fans have come to adore.
To kick things off, let’s explore how Born Again not only pays homage to but also expands the vibrant universe created by the original Netflix series. “We hold the original Daredevil show in high regard; it has profoundly influenced the direction of Daredevil: Born Again,” shares executive producer Brad Winderbaum. Vincent D’Onofrio, who reprises his role as the formidable Wilson Fisk, better known as Kingpin, expresses his excitement about stepping back into what he describes as a thrilling and enjoyable character. Furthermore, we discover that Born Again will reintroduce a pivotal element from the original series: its Emmy-nominated stunt coordinator from the first two seasons, Philip Silvera. He is the mastermind behind the iconic hallway fight that remains legendary among fans.

The second video features returning stars Cox and D’Onofrio, while also welcoming beloved characters portrayed by Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson). Unlike Cox and D’Onofrio, these actors have not had the opportunity to reprise their roles in any Marvel projects leading up to Born Again, making their return even more exciting for fans.
“There’s always a risk, I believe, when you step away from a character for a significant amount of time; you might find yourself merely imitating your past self,” Woll comments. “Having five years between appearances allowed me to reflect and realize, ‘Well, she’s evolved and transformed.’ This is a fresh take on this character. She doesn’t need to mirror her previous self or maintain exact similarities to how she was back then.”
