This dramatic scene unfolds right after he successfully broke free from the townhouse where he was allegedly held captive by his supposed abductors, John Woeltz and William Duplessie. Authorities have stated that the three men were business partners involved in a questionable Bitcoin venture.

The gripping video, dated May 23, begins with a uniformed NYPD traffic enforcement officer casually walking down the street, closely followed by Carturan, who is seen wearing a black outfit and shockingly, is barefoot. The footage captures the moment he is seen frantically running up behind the officer, desperately seeking safety and assistance.

In a surprising turn, the video transitions to a calmer scene, depicting Carturan casually walking alongside the same traffic agent as they head back toward the townhouse. His demeanor appears to have shifted from panic to composure, even displaying a sense of calmness as he walks with the officer. This sense of relief may stem from the fact that he believes he is in the presence of law enforcement. However, it’s important to note that traffic agents are civilian employees within the NYPD, mainly tasked with issuing parking tickets.

As previously reported, Carturan was escaping from the townhouse after police officials stated that Woeltz and Duplessie had kidnapped and tortured him for an excruciating 17 days. Between May 6 and May 23, it is alleged that Woeltz and Duplessie subjected Carturan to severe physical abuse, including beatings, electric shocks, and being pistol-whipped, all in an attempt to extract the password to his multimillion-dollar Bitcoin wallet. Remarkably, despite the torment, he never revealed the password to his digital assets.

Following Carturan’s courageous decision to report the ordeal, both Woeltz, famously dubbed the “Crypto King of Kentucky,” and Duplessie were swiftly arrested on serious charges, including kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
