Instagram has introduced a dynamic new promotion for its enhanced connected TV application, featuring various creators who highlight the exciting, communal experience of enjoying Instagram content on a television screen.

According to AdAge, this innovative promotion from Instagram showcases various applications of the platform’s connected TV app. Users can enjoy watching Reels with friends, participate in fitness routines in their living rooms, and share culinary and travel experiences.
The campaign features creators Ameya Okomoto, Vikram Thanigaivelan and Carson Gillaspia, each illustrating a unique use case for the Instagram TV app.
In December, Instagram launched its redesigned connected TV app specifically for Amazon Fire devices. Following this, the platform has broadened its CTV capabilities to include Google TV and Samsung Smart TVs. Now, Instagram is intensifying efforts to raise awareness of this feature and capitalize on shifting viewing habits.
In its 2024 Q4 earnings, reported in February 2025, Google indicated that connected TV viewing constituted 15% of all Shorts viewing in the U.S. Meanwhile, Instagram has achieved significant success with its short-form video feature, Reels, which now represents 50% of all user engagement within the app.
Instagram aims to tap into this trend and encourage more engaged viewing behaviors through its CTV app.
Alongside this latest promotion, Instagram is motivating creators to develop episodic microdramas and conduct live shows to feature on its revamped TV stream.
