Now THIS is a storm surge — greater than 100 kilos of coke washed up alongside Florida’s shores within the wake of Hurricane Debby.
Whereas Debby didn’t make a direct hit on the Sunshine State, she did stir a number of narcotics stashes that ended up on or close to Florida seashores — together with 70 kilos of cocaine packages within the Florida Keys village of Islamorada.
Authorities say a complete of 25 packages — valued at greater than $1 million — have been discovered by an excellent Samaritan … and every week later one other batch of the coco turned up close to Everglades Metropolis.
The Collier County Sheriff says the 25 kilos have been discovered floating amongst mangroves on the Gulf of Mexico.
Cops assume the coke had been within the water for a very long time as a result of a few of the packages had barnacles. We’re guessing that would not damage the estimated avenue worth of $625,000.
Legislation enforcement is aware of smugglers deliberately make drops at predetermined spots, the place the medication are speculated to be retrieved by different smugglers or sellers.
Hurricanes are inclined to throw a wrench within the works, although, because the tough seas can push the medication method off beam.
