The status of Brave & the Bold remains uncertain, particularly after director Andy Muschietti hinted at potential delays. Although Skarsgård possesses limited insight into the film’s developments—much like any fan not privy to details from Muschietti or James Gunn—he remains open to collaborating with the director once more, following their successful partnership in the It series.

Skarsgård Believes He Could Bring a Unique Interpretation to the Joker
Skarsgård is also confident that he possesses a “really cool” interpretation of the Joker, expressing that taking on the role of the Clown Prince of Crime would be an exciting challenge. Currently, the Joker‘s standing in the DC Universe is somewhat ambiguous, as he hasn’t been mentioned in the latest project, Creature Commandos, and the next significant Bat-themed film is set for 2026 with Clayface. Nevertheless, if anyone embodies the essence of a sophisticated yet chaotic murder clown, it is undoubtedly Skarsgård.
Could Bill Skarsgård Take on Both Batman and Joker Roles?
There’s also the intriguing possibility of Skarsgård portraying both Batman and Joker. In recent years, he has taken on a variety of fascinating roles in genre films, often delivering strong performances even in less-than-stellar movies. Taking on dual roles would indeed be a unique challenge, but it could also be an extraordinary opportunity for him to showcase his versatility. It has been some time since a single actor has played dual roles in a superhero film, but if a project like Sinners can successfully pull it off, there’s no reason the DC Universe couldn’t follow suit.
