Another Patricia Episode on ‘Widow’s Bay’ Is Here!

In last week’s gripping episode of Widow’s Bay, viewers were transported back to 1702, highlighting a pivotal chapter in the island’s formative years. Mayor Tom and Wyck embarked on a quest aboard the timeworn ship of Richard Warren, seeking to end the founder’s legacy and, with it, the town’s longstanding curse.

With three episodes remaining this season, it is far too early to anticipate any semblance of a happy resolution. numerous unresolved issues linger, such as Patricia’s lingering trauma linked to the Boogeyman, which takes center stage in the episode titled “Your Baggage.”

There’s an air of tranquility and almost elation as Tom, Wyck, and Patricia bask in a triumphant breakfast together. With Richard Warren finally removed from their lives, it appears that healing is beginning to take root in Widow’s Bay.

Tom envisions taking Evan to a Red Sox game, dismissing the angry townsfolk who have been searching for their missing mayor for the last two days. For now, everything seems perfect!

This sense of peace is short-lived. Tom returns home to find a somber Evan waiting for him, anxious to discuss some photographs he has discovered. These images reveal that his mother, Lauren, did not die during childbirth. Instead of escalating into a heated argument, as one might expect given their recent strained relationship, this moment transforms into a deeply emotional exchange.

For the first time, Tom opens up to Evan about Lauren’s fate. He explains that she suffered a stroke after giving birth, which changed her drastically. “After that, she wasn’t right… it affected her mind and behavior,” he shares.

Her condition worsened to the point where Tom had to make the heartbreaking decision to commit her to “the Home,” a now-abandoned psychiatric facility on the island. (An eerie abandoned asylum fits right into the atmosphere of Widow’s Bay, doesn’t it?) Tragically, Lauren passed away two years later due to a brain aneurysm.

Tom’s stash contains more than just photographs; there are haunting letters addressed to Evan from Lauren, which he reads aloud, revealing the deep sorrow of her mental decline.

Simultaneously, Wyck visits Gerrie at the museum. His conversation with Tom about Gerrie’s brother’s tragic death has stirred unresolved feelings within him.

As he prepares to share an old photograph with Gerrie, her husband unexpectedly enters. Although he is cordial, Wyck loses his confidence and hastily departs, joking, “I have a lot of photos I need to distribute today.”

On his way out, Wyck notices the glass display case containing the rubber “Murderer’s Mask” has been shattered, and the artifact from the island’s Boogeyman era is missing. Gerrie’s husband suggests it was vandalized by rowdy tourists, but Wyck’s expression shows his concern.

He rushes to the Boogeyman’s cottage, discovering the door ajar—much more so than last seen when Evan attempted to enter. The door is violently broken, with splintered wood scattered on the porch, suggesting someone has escaped from within.

Meanwhile, Patricia is preparing for a quiet dinner with Driftwood Diner takeout and a bottle of wine. Upon opening her meal, she discovers that her order is completely incorrect, lacking the delicious feast she had anticipated. True to her character, she calmly leaves a polite message to complain, hoping that the responsible party (KATHY) will rectify the error.

Next, she decides to tackle a closet cleanout while listening to some soothing Enya. Suddenly, a car alarm blares from the Patti Wagon parked outside. Patricia steps out to investigate, shutting the door behind her. when she returns, she finds the door wide open. Initially oblivious, she gradually realizes that an intruder is hiding somewhere upstairs.

Quietly, she sneaks back outside, grabbing her taser, which has a dangerously low battery. She waits in anticipation, and just then, the Boogeyman appears, resembling a twisted fusion of Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees, moving with the eerie calm of a classic slasher villain.

As she flees, he stalks her, maintaining a relentless pace without breaking into a sprint. Much like Laurie Strode from Halloween, Patricia desperately pounds on doors, pleading for help, but no one responds.

Back at Patricia’s house, Wyck arrives only to find it deserted. He has a strong suspicion about what is unfolding—much like Tom sensing the sea hag’s presence—and sets off to find her.

A few blocks away, Patricia is screaming through the quiet streets of Widow’s Bay. She arrives at a familiar house, the location of a previous party with her old high school adversaries. Ironically, they are gathered there now for a book club meeting to discuss The Lovely Bones. When Patricia bursts in, frantically warning about the Boogeyman, they greet her with skepticism and hostility.

They pressure Patricia into confessing that she fabricated her earlier claims about receiving the killer’s ominous hang-up calls during his initial reign of terror. Yet, she maintains that he did visit her house back then and that he has returned now.

It makes no difference. Kris, the queen bee of the group, confronts Patricia, declaring, “I am not the reason you have no friends. It’s because you’re crazy!” Patricia endures the insults until Kris resorts to talking down to her like a child, prompting Patricia to retaliate by zapping her with the taser.

As the book club ladies gasp in shock, Patricia rushes outside but hesitates on the lawn, just in time to glimpse the Boogeyman looming in the upstairs window before crashing through the second-story glass. The chase resumes, and when Patricia stumbles and falls, it seems the Boogeyman is about to strike when he is suddenly hit by a car.

When Patricia regains consciousness, EMTs are attending to her, but one of them is swiftly killed by the seemingly invincible Boogeyman. Once again, Patricia finds herself fleeing for her life.

In a brief pause from the chaos, we return to Tom and Evan; Evan continues reading his mother’s disturbing letters aloud: “I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m already dead. It’s too late.”

Tom stands up and reveals photos of Lauren that were not hidden away in that box of shame; these images showcase her genuine, joyful self. “This person wouldn’t want you to remember the other,” he tells Evan. He confesses that he hid the other pictures and letters because “they make me sadder than I already am.”

Tom expresses regret, but Evan poses a significant question: “Why do we never leave this island?” This moment could have been an opportunity for complete honesty, but Tom believes that with Richard Warren’s demise, the “dead zone” no longer holds significance. Instead, he hands Evan the Red Sox tickets.

“Things are going to change from now on,” Tom assures him as they share a heartfelt embrace.

Meanwhile, back to Patricia, who is still in a state of panic. She finally reaches the gas station, where Sheriff Clemons, in civilian clothes, is shopping late at night.

He is understandably curious as she rushes in, breathless, buying gas to set a trap for the approaching Boogeyman. Her taser still has just enough charge left to ignite the puddle of gas, much to the astonishment of Clemons and the convenience store clerk. As the clerk instinctively grabs a fire extinguisher to douse the blaze, the Boogeyman retaliates by choking him.

Clemons seizes the clerk’s shotgun in a bid to intervene, but he is quickly overpowered by a vicious knife slash. Just as things seem dire for him, Patricia picks up the gun, capturing the Boogeyman’s attention, and manages to fire a shot that leaves him incapacitated on the ground.

Patricia keeps the weapon trained on him as Enya plays softly in the background while his lifeless body is loaded into the ambulance, transported to the morgue, and placed in the crematorium oven. She only relaxes once she verifies that the Boogeyman has been reduced to ashes. Goodbye, forever!

Patricia and Wyck convene at the doctor’s office, where Clemons is receiving treatment for his injury. In the background, a weather forecast ominously predicts “the storm of the century” approaching, which feels significant.

Oh no. Patricia shares the same concern we all have. “Does Loftis know?” she inquires of the sheriff. He explains that he hadn’t mentioned it to Tom, considering Tom’s tragic history with Lauren and her pregnancy. Patricia insists that Clemons must leave immediately. “You can’t have your child here,” she emphasizes, and he realizes the seriousness of her warning.

As the episode concludes, Tom and Evan—now on better terms—excitedly discuss their upcoming trip to Boston when there’s a knock at the door. It’s Wyck, and his words confirm our fears: “It’s not over.”
