In these clips, he poses alongside his date, dressed in a gray suit while displaying the money. According to MLive, Deon’s death has left Saginaw United High School in deep sorrow, as reports confirm he was fatally shot outside a convenience store following a prom party on Friday, May 22. The investigation remains open, with authorities yet to apprehend any suspects.
At the graduation ceremony on Tuesday, May 26, Deon’s mother, Precious Sherman, took the stage to accept his diploma in his memory. As the Class of 2026 received their diplomas, Saginaw United Principal Eric Gordon took a moment to acknowledge Deon, allowing his mother to step forward wearing the same gray cap and gown as her son’s classmates.
“We celebrate today because we began this journey 13 years ago when we entered kindergarten. We grieve because our friend and classmate, Deon Wiley, is absent from this moment. Let us remember Deon for everything he represented as a friend, associate, and classmate,” Principal Gordon expressed during the graduation ceremony.
