The first season introduced viewers to Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), a freshman endowed with the unsettling ability to manipulate blood. As she delved deeper into a conspiracy linked to “The Woods,” a covert facility where students endured horrific experiments, Marie quickly realized that heroism extends beyond mere life-saving; it often involves navigating a treacherous game.
In its second season, the stakes escalated dramatically, thrusting Marie and her close friends into intense power struggles far more perilous than their freshman year challenges. As alliances frayed and trust was tested, Marie embraced her burgeoning powers in both exhilarating and daunting ways. By the season finale, bloodshed ensued, secrets came to light, and the remaining students found themselves swept into a larger conflict against Vought International.
In the wake of the cancellation announcement, showrunner Eric Kripke clarified that the decision was beyond his control. “I did not cancel the show,” he shared with Entertainment Weekly in April 2026. “I was fighting to keep the show alive, possibly more than anyone else. So I share in the disappointment felt by fans.”

Was Gen V Officially Canceled After Its Second Season?
Indeed, Gen V was canceled after completing two seasons on Prime Video.
Executive producers Kripke and Evan Goldberg issued a joint statement addressing the cancellation via Deadline, expressing, “While we hoped to extend the adventures at Godolkin for another season, we remain dedicated to continuing the narratives of the Gen V characters in The Boys season 5 and other forthcoming VCU projects. They will return.”
Is There Any Possibility of a Gen V Season 3?
The chances of a third season for Gen V are slim following the cancellation, even though Kripke had previously indicated that a concept for season three was under development.
“We are still optimistic that we can find a way to make it happen. Unfortunately, I can’t disclose any specifics,” stated the Supernatural creator in late 2025, according to Entertainment Weekly. He emphasized that “Marie’s journey as a powerful individual is just beginning, and she must learn to harness that strength.”
When asked about the potential direction for season three at that time, Kripke remarked, “It’s still in the early stages since our focus is on launching Vought Rising. Amazon has shown interest and is eager to explore further stories in this universe. We are brainstorming various ideas internally. We’ll see which concepts gain momentum, but all of them have the potential to include some of the Gen V cast, and that’s intentional.”
