This versatile vacuum is designed for serious daily use, making it ideal for those who prioritize cleanliness in every corner of their home, including less obvious areas like windowsills, car seats, staircases, and couch cushions.
The Eufy E20 operates as a robot vacuum without a mopping feature, which means potential buyers should carefully consider the layout and flooring of their homes, especially if they have a significant amount of high-traffic hard floors. In homes dominated by carpeting and rugs, opting out of a mopping feature can be a smart decision, allowing you to enjoy the convenience of a self-emptying robot that transforms into a stick vacuum, effectively catering to diverse cleaning needs.
The Eufy E20 3-in-1 package showcased at CES 2025 has emerged as one of the most underrated robot vacuums of the year. Priced at just $649.99, it stands several hundred dollars below many of its mid-tier competitors debuting this year and is less than half the cost of premium models from brands like Dreame and Roborock that were also presented at CES. This price point is impressive for any vacuum that offers self-emptying capabilities and smart mapping, especially considering it also functions as a cordless stick vacuum. No other brands, including Dyson, can offer such versatility at this price.
Switching between modes is incredibly simple; it involves removing the motor from the robot vacuum body and attaching it to one of the included accessories. Once the robot vacuum finishes its cleaning cycle, or the motor is reattached after handheld use, the docking station automatically empties the dustbin, allowing for up to 75 days of hands-free operation before manual intervention is required. The transparent design of the dustbin is particularly appreciated, as it provides clear visibility of the collected debris, ensuring that each cleaning run starts fresh and demonstrating the vacuum’s efficiency in gathering dirt and dust.
It is important to note that while the Eufy E20 may not claim the title of the most powerful vacuum on the market, its true strength lies in the versatility of its cleaning capabilities. The suction power is commendable at 8,000 Pa, comparable to the impressive Eufy X10 Pro Omni from 2024. While the performance on fine debris and long hair on rugs could use some improvement, the E20 effectively managed to pick up visible crumbs, small rocks, and loose dust bunnies from various surfaces including flat rugs, hardwood floors, and tiles. For carpets heavily laden with pet hair, I often switched to the upright cleaning head, which boasts a robust suction power of 30,000 Pa, effectively tackling the challenge.
On the smart mapping aspect, the Eufy E20 excels in navigation and precision. It successfully generated an almost flawless map of my three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment on its initial attempt. After making a few adjustments in the app to add extra borders, the E20 consistently and accurately navigated to designated areas daily, avoiding obstacles like bath mats and furniture, ensuring thorough cleaning without interruptions.
