Amazon Prime Day is happening from July 8 to 11, and as Mashable’s dedicated laptop expert, I am on a mission to find the most outstanding Apple MacBook deals. Fortunately, my task has been quite straightforward so far: the majority of Amazon’s discounts on the M4 series have remained consistent for several weeks. This means that savvy shoppers can take advantage of substantial savings on some of the best models available.

However, there are a few notable exceptions to this trend. As we approach the latter half of Prime Day, four MacBook Pro models (along with one MacBook Air) have seen price reductions ranging from $2 to $38.49 compared to their original prices when the sale kicked off on Tuesday. While these discounts do not match the best historical prices — it’s worth noting that no MacBooks have reached their all-time low prices this Prime Day — these adjustments offer some reassurance for shoppers who have been waiting for even better deals.

If I had to select my top MacBook deal from Prime Day 2025, it would undoubtedly be the base model of the M4 MacBook Air, currently priced at $849. This model, available in a trendy Starlight colorway, briefly dropped to $829 on June 20. I am entirely confident in endorsing this slightly higher Prime Day price; it offers remarkable performance, open-lid support for dual displays, and an upgraded 12MP webcam. Even at its regular MSRP of $999, this laptop is a fantastic value, making the $150 discount just months after launch quite impressive.

Regarding the MacBook Pro lineup, the most impressive deal I’ve encountered thus far is a whopping $250 discount on a 14-inch M4 model equipped with 24GB of RAM and a generous 1TB of storage. This model experienced a temporary drop to $1,715.05 three times in May, as reported by the price-tracking tool CamelCamelCamel. Nevertheless, its current Prime Day price of $1,749 marks the most significant discount since its launch.

It is essential to note that Amazon now exclusively offers the complete M4 series. While you may come across listings for older models, these are likely to be refurbished or sold by third-party sellers that are better avoided. If you are in search of a good deal on M2 or M3 era MacBooks, consider checking out Best Buy, which is currently running a “Black Friday in July” promotion until July 13; they recently slashed the price of a $699 M2 MacBook Air on Wednesday. I will also keep a close eye on their prices during this event in hopes that they might beat Amazon’s M4 offers.
