Newly released footage reveals a shocking contrast to the allegations of kidnapping and torture involving the bizarre crypto case that has led to the incarceration of John Woeltz and William Duplessie. The videos and images portray a hedonistic atmosphere filled with sex parties and outrageous pranks, raising questions about the true nature of events during the alleged ordeal.
TMZ has obtained footage that features the purported victim, Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan, an Italian businessman, appearing carefree and often shirtless while mingling with other party attendees inside the Manhattan townhouse rented by Duplessie and Woeltz. This footage raises significant doubts about the claims of abduction and torture during this time frame, suggesting a starkly different environment.
Law enforcement officials report that Woeltz and Duplessie allegedly kidnapped and subjected Carturan to severe torture from May 6 to May 23, all in an attempt to force him to disclose the password to his multimillion-dollar Bitcoin wallet. The suspects reportedly inflicted physical harm, including beatings and electric shocks, yet new footage from around May 11 or 12 presents a different image, showcasing Carturan smiling and interacting with multiple women.
One striking image captures Carturan shirtless and smiling, adorned with a neck collar connected to a leash held by a woman, creating a scene reminiscent of S&M dynamics. In the background, two women observe the unfolding spectacle from a couch, while another man is also present but obscured by Carturan, making it impossible to identify if he is Duplessie or Woeltz.
Perhaps one of the most shocking videos features Carturan engaged in sexual activity with a woman in a bedroom, interrupted by an unidentified man who barges in to present a pink sex toy to Carturan, further complicating the narrative of his alleged abduction.
Additional clips depict Carturan discussing the process of cutting cocaine with baking soda and sleeping on a couch alongside two other individuals, one of whom is seen with a large knife resting on his lap. Another video portrays Carturan on his knees as a woman gently tugs at his leash, creating a stark juxtaposition to the narrative of his victimhood.
Another picture captures the Italian businessman comfortably seated in a wheelchair, sipping a drink and munching on a sandwich, while the film “Another Simple Favor,” featuring Blake Lively, is projected on the wall behind him. This casual demeanor adds to the complexity of the case, challenging the narrative of captivity and fear.
Although none of the images depict Carturan in visible distress, this does not rule out the possibility that he experienced significant trauma during the alleged three-week ordeal. Reports indicate this footage was recorded within a span of just two to three days, raising further questions about the circumstances of his captivity.
Previously, TMZ reported on another outrageous incident recorded on May 11 at 1:45 AM, where Carturan was seen tied to a wheelchair, with his hands free, as he was compelled to cook crack cocaine in an air fryer while at least two other individuals in the room watched and laughed at the situation. This disturbing footage adds to the bizarre narrative surrounding the case.
As previously reported, Woeltz and Duplessie are currently being held without bail following charges of kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. The released imagery raises significant doubts regarding the extent of Carturan’s captivity, calling into question whether he was truly held against his will and for how long.
We reached out to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, but they declined to provide any comments regarding the ongoing investigation. We also attempted to contact the NYPD and the attorneys representing Woeltz and Duplessie, but as of now, there has been no response from any of the parties involved.
