Hulk Hogan has officially announced the launch of a groundbreaking new wrestling league, and he expressed his desire for not only himself but also other prominent figures to be present at its inaugural event this summer. During an exclusive interview with TMZ Sports, he mentioned that he hopes to see Donald Trump at the event as well!
The legendary figure from WWE, Hogan, revealed earlier this week that he, alongside Eric Bischoff and renowned coach Israel Martinez, has come together to create a new wrestling organization named Real American Freestyle. In a recent conversation, he revealed his wish to have the President of the United States ringside when the league officially debuts on August 30 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Notably, Hulk, who has been a staunch supporter of Trump throughout his 2024 presidential campaign, indicated his intention to reach out to the White House soon to extend a personal invitation for Trump’s attendance at the event.
Regardless of Trump’s attendance, Hogan made it clear that he has high expectations for the league, which is set to bring a fresh perspective compared to the wrestling promotions he has historically been associated with.
The Real American Freestyle league will feature authentic, unscripted freestyle wrestling competitions, showcasing divisions for both men and women. Hogan teased that athletes participating in this league will have the opportunity to earn substantial compensation, potentially reaching seven-figure sums for their performances, stating that the fighters will actually get paid to compete vigorously.
Hogan also promised that the league will incorporate elements similar to the popular show “The Voice,” where the backgrounds and stories of the wrestlers will be shared with the audience prior to their matches, enhancing viewer engagement.
“By the time these wrestlers step into the ring,” he stated, “fans will feel a genuine connection to these athletes, and the excitement will undoubtedly escalate.”
Hogan explained that the inspiration for this new venture came to him and his business partners around the same time he launched his Real American Beer company. After witnessing Trump attending the NCAA Division I wrestling championships in Philadelphia last month, Hogan became increasingly enthusiastic about the league’s potential.
Now, he believes that this new wrestling league has the potential to become “just as big as” the UFC and WWE, marking a significant moment in the world of sports entertainment.
“This is what I am aiming for,” he asserted.
