Unfortunately, during the activity, another group member “unsafely fired in the wrong direction,” leading to the tragic incident where Christy Carlson Romano was injured. Fortunately, her husband acted swiftly, ensuring she received urgent medical care.
“@thebrendanrooney immediately sprang into action, assessed my condition, and rushed me to the hospital. I was hit in five places, one of which was less than an inch from striking my right eye directly,” she detailed in her post.
Romano went on to reveal that the bullet fragment is now lodged towards the back of her eye, and medical professionals have advised against attempting to remove it, deeming the procedure “too risky.” The situation highlights the serious implications of firearm safety during recreational activities.
