Marvel Snap has officially resumed operations in the United States following its unexpected shutdown, which coincided with the closure of TikTok. This announcement comes from the game’s developer, Second Dinner, who shared on X that they are now collaborating with a new publishing partner. They are also making significant changes to bring more services in-house, ensuring that such interruptions are avoided in the future. Over the weekend, Marvel Snap faced downtime alongside other applications developed by ByteDance, including popular tools like CapCut and social media platform Lemon8, in addition to TikTok. The collectible card game was initially published by Nuverse, a subsidiary of ByteDance, and is available for Android, iOS, and Windows platforms.
Despite the game’s return, we were unable to locate the app for download during our search. However, Second Dinner reassured users on X that they are actively working on restoring the game to both Google Play and the App Store. They mentioned that the restoration process might require additional time. Additionally, the developer is addressing ongoing issues related to in-app purchasing errors that players who already have the game installed are experiencing. In the meantime, players can still acquire credits, boosters, passes, and packages through the official Marvel Snap web shop as Second Dinner continues to resolve these issues.
As for TikTok, it was the first app from ByteDance to come back online, having been down for less than a full day in the United States. The platform announced its service restoration in the country “in agreement with [its] service providers.” However, CapCut and Lemon8 remain unavailable at this time. Following his inauguration, President Donald Trump enacted an executive order that temporarily paused the 75-day ban on TikTok, reflecting his administration’s efforts to reassess the national security and foreign policy implications of the proposed restrictions before they could take effect.
MARVEL SNAP is back online in the U.S. But to make sure this NEVER happens again, we’re working to bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher. This is the start of a new era for MARVEL SNAP.
We know this probably leaves you with even more questions than…
