Until now, there has only been a single smart ring that provided a one-line ECG in such a compact design. The first iteration, Bodimetrics’ Circul+, launched in 2021, was notable for its heart-monitoring capabilities but fell short in terms of aesthetics, not resembling a traditional ring at all. However, during CES 2025, Circular unveiled its second-generation smart ring, which aims to enhance your heart health monitoring experience while looking stylish.
We had the opportunity to explore the new rings today at CES Unveiled, and they certainly catch the eye with their shiny finish. Remarkably, they are also incredibly lightweight, making them comfortable for extended wear. While the sensor nodes within the rings are initially noticeable upon slipping the ring on, after a brief adjustment period of about a minute, it becomes almost as if you’re not wearing a ring at all.
Circular claims that the Ring 2 features upgraded sensors, along with the aforementioned ECG functionality, an impressive battery life of up to eight days, and an enhanced wireless charging dock for user convenience. Additionally, the companion app and integrated AI technology have undergone a complete redesign to deliver a more intuitive and refined user experience. The body of the ring is now crafted from durable titanium and comes in four stunning color options: Gold, Silver, Black, and Rose Gold.
This new generation of rings does not include the vibration alerts found in Circular’s initial models. However, the company’s co-founder informed us that these vibrations will be reinstated in a future upgrade. For now, the second-generation rings are expected to be available in stores by February or March 2025, with a price tag of $380 when they launch.
