Google’s announced that it will be shutting down the chat and contact history characteristics on Google Company Profiles in July, as it moves to streamline its small business tools.
“The what?” I hear you ask.
Yeah, it is not a hugely applied element of the Google Company supplying, but suitable now, customers of Google Search, Maps and Purchasing can get in touch with your small business direct from the in-stream listings, by initiating a chat from the show.
Google Company chat is an optional element of your Google Company profile, which you need to have to particularly activate and/or deactivate for every single Google platform, with an significant proviso becoming that organizations have to reply to any messages inside 24 hours.
That gives yet another, easy way for customers to make make contact with, and could, at least in theory, assist you create additional leads from your Google listings.
But evidently, it hasn’t verified well-known.

“Google will quit permitting new chats to be initiated beginning on July 15, 2024 and then will completely disable the chat and contact history characteristics on July 31, 2024. You can download your chat and contact history from Google Company Profiles, so you can shop them someplace. At some point, Google will delete the history.”
Once more, it is not a big element, so the influence will not be substantial. But if you have been working with this function, it is worth noting that it is going away, and that customers will no longer be capable to initiate a chat from Google surfaces.
