Supreme Court Affirms Birthright Citizenship Against Donald Trump’s Executive Orders
On Tuesday, June 30, the Supreme Court ruled against Trump’s executive order contesting the 14th Amendment. This ruling stated that children born to individuals in the country illegally are indeed U.S. citizens, as reported by PBS News. The 14th Amendment was established partly to formally recognize formerly enslaved individuals as citizens.
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside,” reads the ruling.

President Trump’s Recent Comments on Barack Obama Make Headlines
Obama further explained that throughout his two terms in office, he did not have the luxury of being distracted by his predecessors, and he took the opportunity to critique Trump harshly.
“Look, first of all, when I was president, the last thing I had time to do
was worry about what somebody said or what my predecessor did,” he added. “They’re gone, I’ve got work to do… Worrying about that seems a bit strange to me. It shows someone who’s not focused on the American people and the responsibilities they’re supposed to uphold.”
