Lil Durk Feds Altered Their Entire Case Against Me!

Lil Durk claims that federal authorities have unexpectedly changed their strategy, asserting that prosecutors have completely revamped their case against him just weeks before the trial. He is now urging the judge to either separate the charges into distinct segments or dismiss the entire case.
New legal documents acquired by TMZ reveal that Durk’s legal team has dedicated 19 months preparing to contest the murder-for-hire allegations related to the 2022 homicide of rapper Quando Rondo‘s cousin in Los Angeles. This extensive preparation was upended when prosecutors made unexpected changes to their case.
Durk’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Brian Steel, assert that the prosecution has introduced a series of new charges and allegations, including drug trafficking, robbery, and references to an old shooting incident in Atlanta. This shift has transformed the nature of the case significantly.
According to Durk’s defense team, the prosecution has also reintroduced evidence from a January 2022 murder in Chicago, which they had previously indicated would not be part of the case. His lawyers contend that this unexpected development has forced them to scramble to adapt their defense strategy just weeks ahead of the trial date.
In light of these changes, Durk is requesting the judge to separate these new charges from the initial murder-for-hire allegations, allowing the August trial to proceed without delay. If the court does not grant this request, he argues that the prolonged delays have violated his right to a speedy trial, warranting the dismissal of the entire indictment.
As previously reported by TMZ, Durk was arrested in Florida in October 2024 after being accused of orchestrating a retaliatory attack on Quando following the death of fellow Chicago rapper King Von. Investigators claim that while the intended target survived, Quando’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, tragically lost her life in the incident.
The judge has not yet issued a ruling regarding Durk’s request.
