Update on the Marly Kinney Investigation Boat Captain Faces BUI Charges as Search for Missing Teen Continues

Authorities have arrested 23-year-old Cameron Conley on charges of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) following the disappearance of 19-year-old Marly Kinney during a boating trip on a Kentucky lake. The search for Kinney remains ongoing.
According to officials from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Marly was last seen on June 24 at Grayson Lake. Reports indicate that Conley informed marina personnel that he could not find a woman who had been aboard his boat, prompting authorities to investigate at a nearby boat ramp.
Upon arrival, state troopers observed Conley exhibiting signs of intoxication, such as bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol. During their investigation, they questioned him about potential alcohol consumption while operating the boat.
Conley reportedly acknowledged drinking alcohol and consented to a breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.137%. This level exceeds Kentucky’s legal limit of 0.08% for operating a watercraft. He was arrested and charged with BUI but was subsequently released.
Despite Conley facing charges for BUI, the search for Kinney continues. Search and rescue teams are actively scouring the waters with support from state police helicopters, drones, boats, K-9 units, and numerous local agencies.
The family of Kinney has publicly expressed their appreciation for the extensive response to the search efforts. They have thanked law enforcement, first responders, and volunteers, while maintaining hope that their daughter will be found safe.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding Kinney’s disappearance to contact 911, as the investigation is still active and ongoing.
