What is the NYT Connections Game?
The latest daily word game from the NYT has taken social media by storm. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu for her role in developing this innovative word game and incorporating it into the publication’s Games section. Connections is available on both web browsers and mobile devices, challenging players to group four words that share a commonality.

Each puzzle comprises 16 words, which players must categorize into four distinct groups. These categories can include anything from book titles and types of software to country names. Although several words may appear to fit together, only one specific arrangement is correct.
When players correctly identify all four words in a group, those words are eliminated from the board. Making an incorrect guess incurs a mistake, and players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections more easily. Each group is also color-coded: yellow denotes the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, players can share their results with friends on social media.
