NVIDIA is set to unveil a native GeForce NOW application tailored specifically for the Steam Deck, alongside browser compatibility on leading mixed reality headsets such as the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 and 3S. This announcement, made at CES 2025, signifies a major expansion of NVIDIA’s gaming ecosystem, bringing access to over 2,100 titles to these devices. Notably, players can look forward to experiencing two highly anticipated AAA Microsoft titles scheduled for release later in 2025, enhancing the already diverse gaming library available through GeForce NOW.

The introduction of the native GeForce NOW app is expected to significantly enhance the gaming experience on the Steam Deck. Previously, users relied on limited beta support through the Chrome browser and an automated script. With this new version, gamers can enjoy improved performance capabilities, achieving up to 4K 60p resolution with HDR when connected to a TV, thanks to NVIDIA’s powerful cloud-based GeForce RTX gaming rigs. Additionally, users will benefit from advanced features akin to those available to RTX GPU owners, including the cutting-edge DLSS 3 technology that optimizes frame rates for a smoother gameplay experience. Although NVIDIA has not disclosed a specific launch date, they have confirmed that it will be available “later this year.”

In an exciting development for virtual reality enthusiasts, GeForce NOW will soon be accessible on various VR headsets, with a timeline set for the near future. This includes support for the Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3 and 3S, and Byte Dance’s Pico VR and MR headsets. If you possess one of these headsets, accessing the platform will simply require you to navigate to play.geforcenow.com once the anticipated version 2.0.70 app update is released later this month, opening the door to a plethora of gaming possibilities.

In addition to the expansive existing library of GeForce NOW, users of these devices will also gain access to highly awaited titles such as Avowed by Obsidian Entertainment and DOOM: The Dark Ages from id Software when they officially launch on PC later this year. This influx of new games could entice potential users considering the service, although it’s important to note that in order to play these games, users must purchase them separately, in addition to the subscription cost that can reach up to $20 per month for full access to the service.
