Lala Kent Provides Update on James Kennedy After Domestic Violence Arrest
Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent recently opened up about her thoughts on James Kennedy’s recent legal troubles, following his arrest related to misdemeanor domestic violence allegations.
During a recent episode of Amazon Live, Kent disclosed that she has not had a conversation with her former co-star since his troubling arrest. However, she did mention reaching out to Kennedy’s current girlfriend, Ally Lewber, to check on her well-being during this difficult time.

Kent, 34, responded to a fan inquiry regarding whether she has had any communication with James following the incident involving his arrest.
“I haven’t spoken to him,” she stated. “I reached out to Ally, and she texted me back. This is really all I’m comfortable sharing regarding that situation.”
The mother of two later addressed another question from a listener who wanted to know her opinion on the relationship between Kennedy and Lewber, who is 28. The couple has been together since 2022, and their dynamic has been a topic of interest among fans.
“I don’t have many thoughts on it,” Kent remarked, indicating her preference to focus on her own life instead of delving into others’ relationships.
“What’s interesting about growing older is that you become more focused on your own life. When something happens in someone else’s relationship, my first instinct is to check in and see how they’re doing. I want to ensure they’re okay and know I’m here for them if needed,” she elaborated. “However, I truly don’t spend much time thinking about anyone else’s relationship because I’m primarily focused on what is happening within my own family.”

Kent emphasized that her lack of thoughts on the couple does not indicate that she doesn’t care about them. “As you grow older and have your own family, your focus naturally shifts towards what’s happening in your immediate environment,” she added.
“I reached out to Ally, and I’m not going to share anything more beyond that,” she concluded, maintaining a respectful boundary regarding her involvement.
On December 12, Kennedy was arrested at his Los Angeles residence on charges of misdemeanor domestic violence, which has sparked significant media attention and public concern.
Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that officers from the Burbank, CA Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the area on Tuesday evening after receiving a report about a heated argument involving him and a woman.
According to reports, a witness observed Kennedy and the woman engaged in a dispute, with the reality TV star allegedly grabbing her at one point. However, it was noted that officers did not observe any visible injuries on her during their investigation.
Kennedy was subsequently booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and was later released on a $20,000 bail. Formal charges are currently under review by the Burbank City Attorney’s office, leaving many fans concerned about the situation’s outcome.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Vanderpump Rules has been renewed for Season 12, featuring an entirely new cast. This means that all original cast members are officially out, sparking discussions among fans regarding the future of the show.
During her Amazon Live session, Kent shared her belief that her infamous fourth wall moment may have contributed to Bravo’s decision to reset the series with a clean slate.
As fans will remember, the VPR cast faced turmoil following the scandal commonly referred to as “Scandoval,” where Tom Sandoval was caught cheating on his long-term girlfriend Ariana Madix with Rachel Leviss. Initially, Madix had the support of most of the group, but as Season 11 progressed, some alliances shifted after she chose not to film with Sandoval.
The situation escalated dramatically during the Season 11 finale, where Kent notably broke the fourth wall, confronting Madix for opting not to engage with her ex during filming.
“I often wonder if I could have kept quiet — like, if a producer hadn’t stepped in to tell me that I was allowed to express what I said off-camera about filming — whether the show would have continued as it was,” Kent reflected. “Or if I was just the final nail in the coffin. I guess we’ll never know the answer to that question.”
She further elaborated that she began to accept the notion that Vanderpump Rules — or at least the version fans were familiar with — was coming to an end after her pivotal moment during the finale.
“I’ve discussed this multiple times, so I apologize if I’m being repetitive. I felt like I started mourning Vanderpump Rules the moment I expressed my thoughts during that finale,” Kent shared. “I knew it was coming to an end after that, but I also felt like the moment we started filming Season 11 was going to be the last.”
“It just felt like everything was broken,” she added. “The dynamics were very fractured. So, I feel okay with it. I truly feel at peace.”
