Discover which mobile apps your Facebook friends are using
A new app has launched that may just be the one thing the iPhone is missing. PeepApp is an iPhone app (soon to launch on Android) that allows you to rank apps by which of your Facebook friends are using them. The app works by following people through Facebook, to see which apps they have installed. You can then rank apps by the number of people that have installed them, or see which of your friends have installed a particular app you might be looking at.
When you’ve installed Peepapp, you can create a new account or connect with Facebook :
When you connect with Facebook, you’ll be given the option to invite your friends that aren’t already using it. While this is normally the point within an app that you usually skip past, the more friends you recommend, the better the service will be for you! Until your friends start using it however, you can access a timeline that shows you the latest apps that have been downloaded by any PeepApp users :
You can also check your own profile screen, to see which app information you’re sharing with friends. The experience of downloading an app being social will be new to a lot of people, so make sure to keep an eye on your activity here, and that you’re happy sharing all your apps with your friends :
It isn’t until you start using PeepApp that you realise just how much it adds to the iPhone experience. There has previously been no real social element to discovering apps, at least that has been so embedded in the iPhone experience. Just a few days ago, I had sent an update on Twitter asking for any apps people recommended, which in itself shows how much a service like this is needed
